2006 Season The park opened on 27th May and the park is currently on a 3 year lease to Webbs Amuesments Limited. 2005 Season The park opened on 21st May and was being operated by Essex-based showman Harry Ayers. History Dreamland is one of Britain's most famous seaside amusement parks. The park, which opened in 1920, is home to the Grade II listed Scenic Railway roller coaster, the oldest operating roller coaster in the country and Britain's first listed amusement park ride. Margate Margate has been a firm favourite for day trips and holidays for generations of visitors. It’s famous for its golden sandy beach, seafront arcades and wide variety of attractions and activities – too many to list here!
